Our therapists use various therapeutic modalities to help clients achieve their goals. We tailor our approach to each client, drawing from several methods and collaborating with other disciplines as needed.
Working with PCPs, medication providers, and school staff to provide holistic care.
Tailoring approaches and treatment plans to individual client needs.
Including parents, family, and schools in therapy when appropriate
Clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions and, instead, accept that these deeper feelings are appropriate responses to certain situations that should not prevent them from moving forward in their lives.
CBT helps patients reframe negative thinking patterns into positive thoughts and can be useful to individuals suffering from eating disorders, depression, and anxiety.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) includes a strong educational component designed to provide skills for managing intense emotions and negotiating social relationships
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) aims to improve couple relationships by rekindling the physical and emotional bond that can get sacrificed to disappointment in a partner and alienation from them, a common dynamic in distressed couples.
Therapy that focuses on developing the skills and understanding necessary for partners to maintain fondness and admiration, turn toward each other to get their needs met, and manage conflict.
Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention to the present and is described as observing one’s thoughts and feelings without judging them as good or bad.
Structural family therapy focuses on the interactions between family members and works to improve communication between members of the family and encourages adjustments in the rules that govern how the family functions (its structure)

Everyone is on their own unique path in life, and sometimes our paths may present challenges, barriers, or be completely covered in brush. Therapy helps us manage our path more easily than by walking it alone. How? Therapy can help us identify and process emotions, develop skills, identify triggers, connect us, and help us create a plan. Maybe you are struggling with losing a loved one, maybe you want to overcome a fear, or maybe you are just having a hard time finding joy in life. Therapy can help you work through your thoughts, feelings, and emotions so that you can grow your skills and develop a plan for using them to conquer current struggles and future struggles which may arise on your path.
At Cascade Clinical, you should expect a clinical environment that is safe, compassionate, and empathetic.
Our only goal is to help you. This looks different depending on the day or the need. Sometimes this may mean that we provide space to hold uncomfortable feelings and process though them. Or this may mean we will challenge you from time to time so you can grow a coping skill, learn a new strategy, or challenge an intrusive thought.
Therapy is a process – it takes time and effort over the course of multiple therapy sessions.
It is important that you feel safe enough to show up as you are – to be vulnerable and open regarding your feelings and struggles. In order to do this, you want to find a therapist you can connect with and feel safe with. We will work to establish this safe relationship with you, but we know that everyone connects differently, so if you need something different, we are happy to help connect you to another therapist who can meet your needs.
Your first appointment will include an introduction to therapy, including our policies, frequency of appointments, and techniques used. We will spend the majority of the session getting to know each other, which means we will ask a number of background questions to help guide us in developing a treatment plan with you. It is helpful if you have thoughts on what you hope to get out of therapy, but that is not necessary. We can discuss this together.
You may feel awkward at your first few appointments. That is totally normal. We don’t often get a chance to sit down and spend time on our feelings and emotions, let alone talk about them out loud. Many emotions may arise at those first few appointments. We all have different responses to therapy. Our office is a safe space to experience these emotions. We can hold that space for you, so just let go.
